Notes:
Healthier version, but still delicious! Can last in the fridge for up to 3 days.
This recipe is from the Eat-Clean Diet Book. I do not always follow this recipe. It is very forgiving.
The book recommends a cup for a serving at breakfast and that is about 350 calories or a snack at 1/2 c. for a serving.
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
1/2 c. hot water
1/2 c. quick oats
1 c. low fat or no fat yogurt
1/4 c. raisins
1/4 c. dried cherries or cranberries or both
2 T. natural bran
2 T. wheat germ
2 T. ground flax seeds
2 T. oat bran
2 T. organic honey or I use stevia (couple dashes)
1 apple pealed and diced
cinnamon (my addition to the recipe)
1/2 a banana if desired per serving
Protein powder if desired. Chocolate is pretty nice.
Directions:
In a medium bowl add hot water to oats. Let stand for 20 min. or until water is absorbed.
Add remaining ingredients, refrigerate and eat with in 3 days.
If you add bananas, serve them as you eat each portion.
