vegan choco almond shake +++ Recipe

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Notes:
this is not a recipe but it is what i eat for breakfast almost every day!

i just throw random quantities/combinations of this stuff in a blender and then slurp it up!

it’s not really a “diet” recipe, persay, in the sense that it’s high in calories, but it is full of healthy fats and it’s got the power that will take me all the way to lunch time.

Servings: 1

Ingredients:
-almond milk (the best kind is unsweetened vanilla - only 40 calories per serving!)
-handful of fresh kale (yes, it makes the shake look gross, but you can't get much healthier than raw kale!)
-water (as needed)
-almond butter (1 Tbs or so)
-half of an apple or some other fruit
-thumb of raw ginger (spicy metabolism booster - choco+ginger=love)
-Udo's or Vega oil
-cinnamon (metabolism/flavour booster)
-cocoa powder (1 Tbs or so)
-berries (would be nice but they're generally too expensive for me)
-pumpkin seeds (yeah, just throw 'em in! yay for iron!)
-wheat germ (excellent nutrition & i heard it's good for skin issues)

Directions:
ignore the ugliness and enjoy the chewiness of this drink..
not recommended to serve to others - ha!

    Blueberry Smoothie Recipe

    Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

    Notes:
Hey guys, I thought I’d share this amazing smoothie. I’ve been drinking it every morning for over a year and I just can’t get enough. It’s chock full of antioxidants, protein, potassium, and fiber and it’s soooo filling :)

    Servings: 2

    Ingredients:
1 cup Bluberries (frozen and fresh, I prefer frozen because it's alot cheaper and it's actually better than the fresh because it preserves the nutrients)
1 cup cranberry juice ( you can also use OJ or pomagranate. I use diet cranberry juice-only five calories!)
3-4 Ice cubes ( more if you prefer thicker and less if you want it thinner)
    1 banana
1 tablespoon Lite Silken Tofu or you can use Non fat plain yogurt. (Whenever I mention tofu people are turned off and trust me at first I was too. But you can't taste it at all. It just blends into the smoothie! Try it you'll see what I mean :) and it has more protein anyways!
    **
This is totally your preference, I choose to throw in a tablespoon of Flax seeds for some added nutrition.

    Directions:
Thow all those in a blender and BLEND!

    wha laaa

You have a fast and delicious breakfast or snack on go!

    Sunrise Delight-juicer recipe Recipe

    Monday, August 11th, 2008

    Notes:
A quick, refreshing drink.  It is a staple of my juice fast.  It is easy to make and a joy to drink.  I use a juicer and Magic Bullet to prepare this drink.  You can always try this with a blender but it won’t be as smooth.  My juicer makes the juice taste so much better than I thought possible.

    Servings: 1

    Ingredients:
    Half of one banana
1 peach or nectarine: fresh or frozen; organic if you choose
    1 navel orange
4 strawberries: fresh or frozen; organic if you choose
Ice cubes: 4-8 depending on your preference

    Directions:
    Peach/Nectarine:
Clean, cut in half and remove pit. Cut to fit according to your machine's instructions.

    Orange:
Peel and make sure to remove the pith (white stuff) and hard ends.

    Juice:
Peach/Nectarine and Orange according to your machine's instructions.

    Banana:
    Peel and cut one HALF.

    Strawberries:
If fresh: clean, remove tops and cut according to your machine's instructions.
If frozen: take straight from freezer.

    Blend:
    Peach/Nectarine and Orange Juice
    Strawberries
    Banana
    Ice Cubes

Blend until everything is to the consistency you desire. I blend in my Magic Bullet until everything is smooth. My son likes to have small chunks of banana and strawberry. Add additional ice if you want to make a thicker smoothie.

    ENJOY!!!
