Pitta Bread Pizza! Recipe

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Notes:
Found this recipe in a Weight Watchers magazine, and it is YUMMY and so easy to make

Servings: 1

Ingredients:
Medium size Pitta bread (2.5 points)
3 tablespoons of Passata (or a little more if you like - passata is no points on weight watchers)
40g half fat cheese (2.5 points)
Mushrooms,
a green onion
or other low point veggies or cooked meats (you will have to check the point value) or no extra topping at all!
low fat cooking spray

5 points

Directions:
Chop the onions and mushrooms,
Place the pitta bread on a non stick pan and place under the grill, keep checking it and turn once it starts getting a little crispier and allow other side to crisp,
Spray some low fat cooking spray on the bottom of a pan and fry the onions and mushrooms (you can do most of this while the pitta bread is under the grill),
Take the pitta bread out from under the grill and heat the oven to 190 degrees celsius/375 farenheit/gas mark 5,
Put 3 tablespoons of passata on top of the pitta bread,
Put the fried mushrooms and onion on top of the passata,
Grate 40g of cheese over the top,
Place in the oven for 10mins, or until the cheese has melted and it is cooked to your taste.

Lasagne Recipe

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Notes:
Thought I would give this a try as it is only 2 “syns” on slimming world for the tomato puree and it was GORGEOUS

Servings: 1

Ingredients:
lasagne sheets,
cheese,
can of chopped tomatoes,
tomato puree,
onion,
mushrooms,
any veggies etc you may like (cook them then add them into tomatoey mix),
fry light or any other low fat cooking spray

Directions:
chop your onions and mushrooms then spray the bottom of a saucepan with fry light,
put in the onions and mushrooms and when they start browning add in the can of chopped tomatoes,
add 3 or 4 tablespoons of tomato puree and cook mixture,
preheat the oven to 200degres (or 180 in fan oven) or gas mark 4,
get a small pot suitable for oven cooking (or a larger 1 if cooking for more people) and place 1 or 2 lasagne sheets at the bottom,
spoon in some of the mixture, place a couple of slices of cheese on top,
then add another layer of lasagne and repeat process with as many layers as you like (I used 3 layers of sheets)
on the top of your final layer add the rest of the mixture and grate some cheese over the top,
place the pot in the oven and cook for about 25/30 mins or when the lasagne is cooked and the cheese is melted OR look at the back of your lasagne sheet packet and see if there is a suggested time, may need to be left a little longer if you are cooking a larger one.

low fat potato wedges Recipe

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Notes:
depending on how many wedges you would like, grab a few baking potatoes, wash them, jab them with your fork a bit lol and sprinkle a bit of salt over then wrap them in kitchen/cooking foil. place them in the oven at about 220 degree celcius, gas mark 7, and bake them for 45mins. leave the oven on but take out the potatoes, unwrap them and cut the potatoes completely in half then cut in half again (unless you want the wedges cut a little thinner). get an oven dish and spray it thoroughly with fry light, put in the wedges and spray them again over the top. put them back into the oven for about 30mins or until they are nice and crispy. if you are making them for more than 1 person they may take a little longer. ENJOY x

low fat chips!! Recipe

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

Notes:
peel some potatoes and cut them into chip sized chunks and boil them for about 4mins then drain them (you can dry them with some kitchen towel if you like but I don’t usually bother). give the bottom of a baking tray a good spraying with fry light and dump the partially boiled potatoes in, spread them out and give them a spraying over the top with a bit more fry light. set your over to: 240°C/475°F/Gas 9 and they should take about 25-30 mins.. or until they have gone a lovely golden brown colour! you can check out the slimming world website for more detailed instructions or just google search syn free chips
